Senior Shoebox 2017

Between the club and member donations we collected $832. Thank you to everyone who donated shoeboxes during the year. With your donations we were able to do 70 boxes, 35 for men and 35 for women. A special thanks to Mary and Jan who assisted with gathering donations. Sunday Nov 5 Mary , Sharon  and Karen tried to empty the Dollar Store in Medford doing the shopping for items to fill the boxes. When they ran out of enough items………we hit the Central Point Dollar Store.

The following Sunday, was the day for wrapping and filling boxes. Thirteen women and Fred gathered at our home. After a delicious lunch of soups, salads and bread 13 of us wrapped and filled all 70 boxes with items that will be useful and fun for seniors. Fred ran boxes to and from the garage, reattached lids and kept count for us.

This competition is an important part of our club's civic contributions each year. A special "thanks" to all our donors. We hope this will encourage more donations for 2017.
